TUBIFEX WORMS

Tubifex worms are excellent aquatic organisms, but are difficult to ship successfully. Aquarium stores often stock live Tubifex worms as food for tropical fish. If you can obtain them, purchase a small quantity (1/2 ounce) a day or two before the setup day.

What to do when they arrive. Keep the tiny aquatic worms in 3–4 cm of fresh treated water in a plastic cup. They will form a tangled knot at the bottom of the cup. Keep the Tubifex worms in the refrigerator to ensure their longevity. You may want to cover the cups loosely to keep things from falling into them, but be sure that air can flow into the cup to aerate the water. Change the water every other day.
