Interactive On-line Activities
FOSSweb.com contains on-line activities based on grade school curriculum
developed by the FOSS
Program at the Lawrence
Hall of Science. They make wonderful integrative experiences
for the FOSS modules or great stand-alone, science-based games for
the whole family.
The on-line activities relate to the FOSS Earth
Science, Life
Science, Physical
Science, and Scientific
Reasoning strands. Students are challenged to apply what they
have learned in innovative and fun ways. Students are challenged
to apply what they have learned in innovative and fun ways. In the
Earth Materials Module, for example, students must
test the hardness of the walls using Mohs' Mineral Hardness Scale
to escape from a "castle of doom." In the Levers
and Pulleys Module, students develop a simple machine in
order to get a clown on a stage. Each of the sixteen modules has
at least one activity.
